Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey is an African American author. She is most famous for her ex-wife of comedian Steve Harvey. She decided to keep her private life private and out of the public eye. Steve did not enjoy the fame he is currently enjoying, however they had been married 14 years. The reasons behind the couple's separation weren't revealed and there have been rumors of it being heard in Hollywood. Some claim that Steve Harvey is cheating while some blame him for choosing comedy as his profession. The tragedy of her story is attributed to the fact that Steve abandoned her and his two daughters, while she was expecting their third child. Despite the difficulties she was able to establish a successful career in fashion designer and writer. Her works include "Marcia Eyes To The Soul", "Marcia" and "Marcia Poems From The Heart". Her children are influenced by her generosity and compassion. Marcia Harvey was raised in an African-American family and has a poor financial situation. She began working for the department store 'Saks Fifth Avenue'. She came across Steve a few years later at a mutual friend's reception event. They were very close and married in the year 1980. The couple was blessed with twin girls in 1982. Steve was an insurance salesperson. However, around that time Steve was beginning to get disillusioned with his work and was looking to pursue a career in entertainment particularly stand-up comedy. This led to a lot of conflict between him and Marcia and later, reports indicated that they were starting to separate by the year 1990. Marcia Harvey's fame stemmed largely from her marriage to Steve Harvey, and their divorce. While their divorce proceedings in 1994 were secret, it's clear that Marcia Harvey was pregnant with their third child at the time they fell apart. Marcia was finally able to file for divorce in 1993. Marcia was compelled by Steve Harvey's refusal pay any alimony or child support following her divorce.
